There is a long list of credits for this project. The Garland Company is the major sponsor and has supplied valuable information as well as some of its products. Othe companies that have helped are Soprema, W.P.Hickman, American Wickdrain, American Hydrotech, and Tueffel Nursery.
The originator of this project was Jon Alexander of the Guild. He suggested a green roof project to Elizabeth Powers, who sent e-mail to those interested in a first meeting. The preliminary research and organization was carried out by Elizabeth Powers, Patrick Carey, Terry Phelan, and John Bacon. Sandy Campbell orgaized the first soils and plants research. Christopher Gronbeck, Kevin Whilden, and Patrick Carey worked on the web site. Mike Broili took over from Sandy Campbell and took the plant list through several filters for native plant research. Megan Ritchie did all of our moss research. Other contributors to the plant list were American Hydrotech, Green Backs for Green Roofs publications, Pat Lando of Total Work of Art, Charlie Miller of Roofscapes, Michael Lockman, Celeste Gilman, and others I can't recall at the moment. Jon Alexander build our first test panels. Scott Riggins, Jon Alexander, and Mark Spitzer did assembly research.
We have benefited from the Guild in that its 501(C)(3) status gave us eligibility for certain grants plus a very good forum to develop the project.
In addition there are those who have offered their roofs for experimentation. Teresa Burrelsman and Bruce Trotter have provided our monitoring research. The project owes its existence to these and many others who gave selflessly of their time.
