This American Life. What are the lifestyle choices that are most prevalent, and who is living independently from them? The combustion engine and gas station are pillars of our culture. Grocery stores are the sources of food for almost all of our national calorie intake. The single-family home is private and independent but isolated by the development of our building codes.

Learn about co-housing and the blessings of shared resources, market trends for electric vehicles and bicycles- why zero carbon transit is catching on, and hear about a year without the grocery store using site and barter for sustenance.

Attendees will learn what it means to become independent from a ubiquitous American institution of one kind or another. Topics will focus on economic decision making for micro and macroeconomics and some citizen analysis and discussion about the future of batteries, bike lanes, and local food systems.

Hosted by George Ostrow and Erik Goheen
