You're invited to the epic event of the Fall – a zHome celebration with special guest Alex Wilson of Environmental Building News and Buildinggreen.com.
THURSDAY OCTOBER 20, 2011
4:00 TO 8:00 PM
Please join us for a free, fun-filled evening to:
- visit this inspiring community, which is redefining sustainable production
housing in the Northwest - visit with friends in the deep green building community
- network with professionals that share your values
- meet Alex Wilson.
Alex Wilson is in town to present the keynote address for the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild's 2011 EcoBuilding Retreat , from Friday, October 21st through the 23rd. Come for one day or for the whole weekend. Register online. The zHome celebration is a "pre-funk" for the weekend event.
The celebration and tours of zHome, the highest scoring Built Green project ever and the first Salmon Safe certified project in partnership with Built Green, begin at 4 pm – you can travel by bus, by bicycle, or by carpool; but no matter how you get there, don't travel alone – there's safety in numbers and carbon offsets. Rain or shine, we'll have tents up in the courtyard in case of inclement weather or severe climate change.
• Salmon Safe wine and refreshments will be served.
• DJ zBrad Liljequist will spin LP's on site.
DIRECTIONS
Google hasn't caught up with the times, so don't follow Google Maps to zHome. Instead, take your favorite route to I-90, Exit 18, follow the road up the hill and start looking for your friends. Or you can look for the solar panels up on the roof-tops! The project is next the new YMCA, about 200 feet east of the High Street/Highlands Drive intersection, on High Street. Plenty of parking is available but please do carpool or take public transportation.
Alex and zHome partners will make comments at 6:00 pm, however the evening is really dedicated to you – the green building professionals.
EVENT PARTNERS:
zHome, King County Green Tools, Northwest EcoBuilding Guild, Built Green, Stewardship Partners and Salmon Safe
