A research-based practice with deep roots at the UW, atelierjones focuses on small urban infill projects from SFR to small multifamily to adaptive reuse across a wide spectrum of uses. Currently, we have the first CLT structure in the City of Seattle under construction, using Passive House detailing, and will be submitting for permit using CLT for a 30,000 SF adaptive reuse project in Bellevue before the end of 2014. atelierjones recently won an AIA Award of Merit for a highly sustainable 7-unit live/work project in the Madrona neighborhood, where aggressive standards of greywater up cycling and rainwater collection were implemented to approach net-zero levels for water use in the small, neighborhood infill project. A long-time supporter of and contributor to sustainable building practices, Susan Jones founded the collaborative seven person practice of atelierjones over 11 years ago. They are located overlooking the viaduct on Western Avenue in downtown Seattle.
