This intentional community is an urban oasis in downtown Olympia. Permaculture practices make it natural, beautiful and productive. It’s also an economic development hub, with 16 green businesses doing demonstrations for the Green Tour.
Demonstrating Urban Sustainability at a Neighborhood Scale
Two green lodgings, a real estate office, a renewable energy company, and two non-profits conduct life and business on this ½-block space 12 months of the year within a shared vision of sustainable economy. 10 other local businesses will be on-site for the Tour, teaching and doing hands-on demonstrations including flagstone patio and rain garden installation, lead-safe paint renovation (exterior), evacuated tube solar hot water, and many other eco-friendly building practices.
