Edible Forest Gardens

The NW EcoBuilding Guild joins with Edible Forest Gardens to establish an Edible Forest Garden at the Guild’s EcoHouse and adjoining Fertile Ground Garden

Edible Forest Gardens consist of three main layers, with fruit and nut trees as the upper canopy, berries and other edible bushes as the middle layer and perennial vegetables and fruits as the ground cover. Come and learn how you too could turn your yard into an Edible Forest Garden.

The 2-day workparty at Site #16 will include ongoing work and learning opportunities, plus more formal workshop/teaching times periodically throughout the weekend:

Saturday 10 am:  Design and layout of trees and shrubs in an edible forest garden

Saturday 1 pm:  Planting trees and shrubs

Sunday 11 am:  Constructing a Hugelkultur

We will be there from 10 AM until 4 PM both days with potluck lunches. Feel free to come for both full days, half days or just stop by when you can.

DONATIONS NEEDED: WOODCHIPS: Maple, alder, willow, etc. NO CEDAR. Call Pat at 509-669-1549 about delivery. MONEY to help the EcoBuilding Guild put on the work shop. Mail to Edible Forest Gardens, PO Box 13273, Olympia, WA 98508
