As much energy is often used to travel to a building as is consumed in the building. Building near access to transit and safe walking and biking routes leads to energy conservation and emission reductions, as well as consumer transportation cost savings and increased physical activity and health benefits. Workshop participants will learn about benefits, strategies and resources for incorporating sustainable transportation choices in green building projects and will board an Intercity Transit hybrid biodiesel-electric bus for a brief driving tour of nearby transit oriented development.
IT's "Community Vans" will be the primary vehicle used at the Go Green Transit Hub
