NW Green Home Tour is a Wrap
The 3rd Annual NW Green Home Tour was a great success!
Organized by ESP Services
Co-produced by NWEBG Seattle Chapter and Built Green
and Presented by Green Home Solutions
THANK YOU to our 2013 Green Home Tour Sponsors for their generous support.
THANK YOU to our 2013 Green Home Tour Site Hosts and Sustainability Stops for sharing their homes and business with their community.
THANK YOU to the Green Home Tour Planing Committee for their magnanimous efforts planning the Tour.
And especially, a great big THANK YOU to the many interested and inquisitive Tour Guests. Without your participation, the event would not have been a success. Your desire to learn about sustainable building is driving the building market to build for a sustainable, healthy, and efficient built environment.
The 3rd Annual Northwest Green Home Tour was extremely successful with some sites reporting over 100 tour guests, and others even as many as 300. We have also received reports that the quality of the tour guests, in their thirst for knowledge, their pursuit of green building solutions, and their enthusiasm, was outstanding.

Feedback on the 2013 Green Home Tour
"It was steady all day till the end. A good day,."
- Martha Rose, Martha Rose Construction
"Sounds like Saturday turned out beautifully! Bill had a great time and so did Mike & Cindy Ford."
- Kim Howe, Better Builders.
"I just wanted to say how wonderful it was to be a part of the 2013 NW Green Home Tour. We had 81 people sign in on the day of the tour and we had groups of people come to Grow that had already signed in at other sites. That being said, I feel like we had well over 100 people visit our site and tour our homes. We were busy all day long and had a very positive experience. The bulk of our attendees were from Kitsap County."
- Carrie Zech, Grow Community.
"I am guessing there were over 50 people at our house. It was hard to keep track with so much coming and going. There never was a lull. John (Novak) was a great help. He put out the signs and picked up on what I was telling people about systems in short order so he could give the spiel on is own and take the weight off me to a good extent. There were questions of interest on everything from the solar panels to the "wall" of bamboo plants we have along the back of the yard. I had a great time talking with a lot of interested and interesting people and received nice compliments. I enjoy being in the company of people with an interest in improving the way we live on this planet. It gives me an emotional boost to be with people that have the passion to make a difference."
- Jack Herndon, homeowner.
"(The) GHT team did an outstanding job this year! The Model Remodel team that included the Architect (and even the Homeowner for awhile) felt that it was a valuable investment that really paid off. The tour offered a great way to showcase quality work, connect with the community and expand green design, construction and materials knowledge. We look forward to participating again in year 4!"
