2011 Green Home Tour is a Wrap

Green Home Tour is wrapped up.

The 2011 tour was a great success!

THANK YOU to our 2011 Green Home Tour Sponsors for their generous support.

THANK YOU to the Green Home Tour Planing Committee for their magnanimous efforts planning the Tour.

And especially, a great big THANK YOU to the many interested and inquisitive Tour Attendees. Without your participation, the event would not have been a success.  Your desire to learn about sustainable building is driving the building market to build into the future, to build a sustainable, healthy, and efficient world.

The Seattle Chapter of the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild was delighted with the whole event and wants to thank you for your contribution.

Information and anecdotes about the tour’s success are coming in and are providing some fantastic feedback (see below).

2011 is a Wrap; What about 2012?

The Seattle Chapter intends to go ahead with plans for a follow up tour in 2012!

In the spirit of building into the future, we are planning to repeat the success of the 2011 Green Home Tour next year.  This will be a great opportunity for you to help plan the 2012 event.  If you are interested in participating in the 2012 Green Home Tour, please email us and let us know at greenhometour@ecobuilding.org.

The Green Home Tour Committee has received positive feedback

From Homeowners hosting a site at 07 Collins Memorial Addition

We were a home on your tour this weekend, and just wanted to let you know what a great experience it was for us.  We met so many people, all committed to the same values.  We had wonderful conversations, and were so inspired by the way this event connected people to share information on such a variety of eco-building topics.  The fact that the tour was free made it accessible to all kinds of people.  It was fun to see several who came on bikes or on foot.  Everyone who came was considerate and fun, and felt like part of an extended family.  Of course, Doug Kennedy and Pathway welcomed people amazingly.  We have never done anything like this, and were completely surprised by what a great experience it was in every way.

Thanks so much! - Kathy and Bill Collins

…wanted to tell you that from what I heard and saw, the tour was a big success. … I stopped by several … (North Seattle area) and the home owners, contractors and architects I spoke with were all very happy with the traffic they were getting through the homes and the interest and questions from the tour participants. Several I spoke with said they would absolutely participate in a second tour next year. The signage and on-site information provided were very helpful and well-organized; … Congratulations!

"You guys rock, loved the green tour!!"

One of the very last attendees on Sunday gave me the best quote of the whole weekend. She said, "I feel like I have learned so much. I am so inspired and ready to take action!"

Wasn't our tag line Inspiration * Education * Solutions??? The quote closed the weekend with perfection!

Green Tour Volunteer Team, Way to go!  WOW – what a weekend.  I can’t believe this was the FIRST of its kind, I even had tour goers comment on how impressive the tour, maps, information, and tour stops were and they were surprised this wasn’t a well-seasoned event.

High fives and cheers to all of you.  …#22 Leschi Green Gut Rehab … had over 115 people stop by and we talked their ears off about green building.  The education was flowing and enthusiasm was contagious.
