Beautifully restored historic cabin on the shores of Hood Canal.

The Hallett Beach Cottage was built by early Belfair settlers on the south shore of Hood Canal.  Constructed primarily of native fir and cedar, it was originally supported only on tree stumps.  Several years ago it sustained substantial water damage due to an undetected plumbing leak.  The majority of existing flooring and wall paneling were irreparably damaged and had to be removed, leaving behind a rickety skeletal framework.

The owner had a limited budget.  She tasked Sun Path to renovate the Cottage reusing as much of the remaining structure and materials as possible.  She also desired a more energy efficient building.   She asked that we replicate original finishes utilizing reclaimed, recycled and sustainable materials.  We enrolled this project in the Kitsap HBA Built Green Program and attained a three-star rating, the highest attainable.
