zHome is a revolutionary, 10-unit townhome development that uses smart design and cutting edge technologies to radically reduce its environmental impacts. zHome will prove that homes that use zero net energy and 60% less water, emit net zero carbon emissions, have clean indoor air and use only low-toxicity materials are possible and scalable to mainstream home production.

zHome is a 10 unit, 14,000 sf townhome development, located in Issaquah, Washington that uses cutting edge technology to radically reduce environmental impacts. Project benchmarks include net zero annual energy consumption, 70% water reduction, net zero carbon emissions, clean indoor air quality, and use of only local low toxicity materials. zHome is a production housing demonstration project whose primary objective is to challenge conventional building standards and encourage deep market transformation.

Sponsored by the City of Issaquah, developed by Ichijo USA Co., LTD and Matt Howland, collaborating in a public/private partnership with Built Green, King County, Port Blakely Communities, Puget Sound Energy and the Washington State University Energy Program, the project was completed in August of 2011. Acclamations to date include:

One hour tours will be conducted of the project focusing on Site and Stormwater, Energy Efficiency, Indoor Air Quality, and Materials Efficiency. Tours will travel throughout the site, seeing all three floor plans, and have the opportunity to see some of the most advanced deep green building practices that include but are not limited to:
