Green Canopy Homes is a Seattle homebuilder focused on bringing energy efficiency and sustainability to Seattle’s existing housing stock. Through our work we are able to preserve the existing structure and character of Seattle’s aging homes – while at the same time delivering a product that is modern, fresh and ultra-efficient. Rather than scrape properties with potential - our team works hard to engineer projects that are buildable, salable, valuable, beautiful and innovative.
This project was an extensive remodel of a 1980’s house originally designed by an architect who initially lived in the house for several years. Our task was to design and create a cook’s kitchen, a “man cave”, a mud/powder room addition, an updated bathroom/laundry and add closets to a bedroom that originally did not have any. Our clients were committed to a very green project from the beginning and incorporated many recycled and green products and practices into the project.
Mighty House Construction | Entero Design
The kitchen of this 1925 bungalow in Madrona was renovated to maximize function and creating a healthy space for this family. Living a sustainable lifestyle is important to them so the kitchen was designed to enable the owner and her daughters to do the canning and cooking they enjoy with an ease of maintenance. The layout, materials, and color palette were selected to highlight the homes Spanish influences. The home additionally features daylighting and other energy efficient upgrades as well as rain water harvesting systems.
Kohl Construction | Community Power Works
Every green building project begins and ends with energy efficiency. A new program offered in Seattle by Community Power Works and implemented by Kohl Construction shows you how everyone in Seattle can be on the path to green.
