Meet our awesome leadership team!

We are all volunteers who have regular 'day' jobs, and many of us also have our own businesses in our 'other' lives. We are passionate about the Guild and about green building. And we have a lot of fun working together!

The Steering Committee meets regularly, on the 2nd Thursday of every month, at locations in and around Seattle. If you are interested in attending a meeting or joining the team, please contact Wayne.

Wayne Apostolik

Northwest Homecrafters

Wayne is a remodeling contractor in the Seattle area and his company Northwest Homecrafters has been remodeling homes since 1989. He is certified as a Building Analyst Professional, an Energy Star verifier, a HERS rater, and an Aging In Place specialist, and has also received Passive House and Permaculture training. Wayne has been an active member of the Master Builders Association Remodelers Council and also serves on the board for Home Performance Washington and Passive House Northwest.

Wayne led the Education Committee since January 2010 and became our Vice-President in June 2012, and took the helm as President in Dec 2013 from Grace Huang.

Wendy is a principal at Layton & Sell, a civil and coastal engineering consulting firm, and has worked on a variety of private site development projects with a focus on drainage design. She finds the adoption of new Green Stormwater Infrastructure regulations interesting and am looking forward for more opportunities to incorporate cisterns, green roofs, etc. into our designs. It’s an exciting direction the building industry is headed towards and she would like to have in hand in helping it continue to move forward.

Tim Corrigan is a passionate, relationship-focused, high performing banking manager and leader. Tim's objectives are to improve the lives of his clients, financially and otherwise, grow his portfolio of business by developing long-term relationships and referrals, and be a positive force in his community.

Tim jumped aboard to fill a gap as Treasurer in October 2014 when our last treasurer was relocated to Arizona. Welcome aboard Tim!

Jay is a registered architect, a visual artist and passionate about sustainable building practice. His firm art & architecture merges high-quality design with a respect for human comfort and elegant use of materials. An advocate for low-energy building design and resource-efficient building strategies, Jay has taken the Passive House training, and looks forward to putting these concepts into practice. His focus is mainly residential design, though also involves a range of commercial projects. He is also involved with the Roosevelt Neighborhood Sustainable group; was a former member of the Seattle Arts Commission; was on the Light Rail review commission; co-developed BallardWorks, a large artist workspace center; and is a practicing artist.

Jay has been involved with the Booth Committee since 2008 and became the Booth Chair in December 2010. Jay was formally elected to the Steering Committee in October 2013.

Ann works as a project manager at Starbucks, supporting field teams around the world to LEED certify their stores. Originally from NY, she first gained her NW foothold 3 years ago, working as a program manager at Built Green. As part of her NW transformation, she boulders and has recently added biking to work as part of her daily routine.

Ann joined the team December 2012, and was formally elected to the Steering Committee in October 2013.

Peter Van LoonPeter Van Loon

Teleion Consulting

Peter is a strategy and risk consultant, real estate investor, and fledgling developer. He's currently responsible for risk and sustainability related consulting work with Microsoft and owns a 4-plex building in Wallingford. He's very interested in modern green building techniques and would love to eventually become a developer. He served on the board of non-profit in Chicago.

Peter was elected to the Steering Committee in October 2013. Welcome aboard Peter!

Green Pages Coordinator

ESP Services

Serving as promoter, organizer, and educator, since 1990, Cate is an early-adopter of Green Building in Washington State. She was recruited to serve as a founding Board member of the NWEBG. Working with private enterprise, non-profits, and governments, she designs, supports, and promotes Green Building initiatives and project promotions throughout the Northwest, primarily in the Seattle metropolitan area.

Cate is one of the founding members of the Guild. She produced the Regional edition of the Green Pages for many years, until it went digital in 2010. She produced the Seattle edition of the printed Green Pages in 2012. Thanks Cate!
