Technical Flash Cards

The Technical Flashcards Online Library is not only a place to store our knowledge but a forum to update and discuss. Green Building, Energy Efficiency, Land and Habitat conservation, water efficiency, green materials, community environmental design, and high performance building targets each contain hundreds of individual subjects and construction techniques.

Welcome to the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild's Technical Flash Cards Project. We believe that in order to meet the aggressive goals being set for energy efficiency retrofits, weatherization, and the expansion of green building, broad industry training is needed. To this end, we are building an open source, easy-to-use, interactive library of Technical Flash Cards for building professionals.

These TFCs will be organized into seven main categories, with subcategories for various stages of the construction process. The TFCs themselves will detail a very specific technique or process of construction, with necessary modifications for project type - retrofit, remodel or new construction.

We will make these TFCs available both online and in printable format, in order to facilitate their use by designers, supervisors and installers alike, in project meetings and on the job site.

We encourage industry practitioners to join us in reviewing and building this TFC library, and welcome feedback on the practical application of specific cards as they evolve. Please email us with your level of interest.
