Biomimicry in the Built Environment – Shell, Scale, and Skin

October 27 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Biomimicry in the Built Environment

Biomimicry is the practice of abstracting and applying principles observed in nature to the questions, problems, and practices addressed and designed by people. We will look at how the practice of sustainable and regenerative design is inherently biomimetic. Come join us as we learn about existing and cutting edge technologies as they relate to SHELL, SCALE, and SKIN –

  • 3D printing
  • reinforced rammed earth
  • cladding

Presentations will include Jim Ditto and industry representatives who will talk about their process and products, benefits, costs, and comparisons, followed by the usual panel Q&A.

“Virtual Doors” open at 6:00 PM and presentations will begin at 6:30 PM. This event will be recorded and made available to registrants a week after the event. Register at https://biomimicryinbuiltenvironment.eventbrite.com
