What is the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild? The Northwest EcoBuilding Guild is a 501(c)(3) community of builders, designers, suppliers, homeowners, and partners concerned with ecological building in the Pacific Northwest. The Guild empowers people through education to transform the built environment for long term sustainability.


The Guild was founded in 1993 by a small group of professionals already incorporating green building ideas into their practices. They formed the Guild in order to network, learn and exchange ideas related to their areas of expertise. The Guild has now grown to three chapters serving the diverse bioregions of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia. Learn more About Us.

What kinds of events are posted on the Guild’s Events Calendar?
Events on the Regional or Chapter calendars include classes, workshops, lectures, tours, conferences and more, all related to green building or community sustainability. These events are posted by our Chapters and members, or by public request by emailing

What is a Project Spotlight?
Project Spotlights, located in the Green Building section, are case studies submitted by Guild members for educational purposes. They can highlight a home, building or remodeling project, or a practice related to green building, with a description, pictures, and links. When a member uploads a Project Spotlight it is also linked to their Green Pages listing.

How do I join?
You can join the Guild online directly from the Home page and selecting the JOIN button. Alternatively, you can also select JOIN TODAY from the Membership drop-down menu from any page on the site. Select your desired membership level and follow the instructions online. If you have any issues with the membership process, please email

How do I renew my membership?

Here is how to renew online:

  1. Click the “Join” tab at (this will redirect you to our membership site), where you can log in an renew.
  2. If you have not logged into the new membership site previously, and did not receive a membership invoice with your new username, click the “forgot username” link to retrieve it.
  3. Then click “forgot password” to set a new password.
If you would prefer to renew by mail, download and complete the member registration form, and mail it to the address listed on the form.

Can I join without an email address?

Yes, but with major limitations. As the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild limits the amount of information that is sent by mail, an email address is necessary to receive notifications of upcoming events and opportunities from your local Chapter and the Regional Guild.

How do I update my contact information?

You can review and update your contact information at any time by logging into the Guild’s Member Center. Then, simply click on the “Edit Contact(s)” link in right-hand navigation menu to make changes to the information used by the Guild and its chapters to contact you regarding upcoming events and other Guild information. This information is not shared with the public and is accessible only to Guild Leadership.

Can I post details about my personal or professional project?

Yes. You can share information about your projects online by clicking on “Submit a Project Spotlight” in the Member Center. We encourage you to provide only information of educational value. This is not the place to sell yourself, your services or a home. When completed, your Project Spotlight will be publicly viewable in the Guild’s online Green Building section, and linked to your Green Pages listing (if your membership level includes a listing).

How do I get my username and password if I forget them?

If you’ve only forgotten your password go to the Member Center login page and click the link under login fields to receive a password reset email.

If you have forgotten your username and password contact the site administrator at You will receive a reply with the username you selected. Then follow the above directions for resetting your password.

How do I contact my local Chapter leadership?

You can find the Chapter leadership information for your Chapter online by going to Guild Chapters and selecting the Chapter in your area. Contact information can be found on the Steering Committee page. You can also visit the Contact Us page for a list of Chapters and their main contact email address.

Does my local Chapter have regular meetings?

You can find the meeting dates and times for your Chapter online by clicking on Guild Chapters and selecting the Chapter in your area. Information about meetings is often on the Welcome page, otherwise, refer to the Chapter Event Calendar.

What are the online Green Pages?

The Northwest EcoBuilding Guild’s online Green Pages is a directory of our professional members, searchable by keywords, category, and location. It’s how new customers will find you quickly and easily! Green Pages listings include your company name, contact info, and a description, but you can also add your logo, and additional links. All Project Spotlights you submit will also be linked to your listing.

How does the online Green Pages search work?

You can search the online Green Pages by Keywords or Categories. Keywords can be names (or partial names) of people, businesses, chapters or cities, phrases like “green building” and “remodeling Seattle” or just simply words like “builder”. But, when you use a single key word only listings with that exact word will be shown, so for a slightly broader search add an asterisks to end of word – example build*.

How can I get my company listed in the Green Pages Directory?

By joining the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild at one of the many professional Membership levels, you will be eligible for an online Green Pages listing. After joining, you simply need to complete the Green Pages listing setup online.

How do I set up my Green Pages listing online?

Setting up your Green Pages listing is easy and is required in order to appear in the online directory. Log into the Member Center, then click on the “Edit Green Pages Listing”. You are able to enter information that is different from your personal contact information if you want. When finished, click on the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

Can I get additional category listings in the Green Pages?

Yes. Each additional category listing is $75. You can select additional categories at any time when you log into the Member Center and click on the “Edit Green Pages Listing” link. Once you select your additional category(s), you will be able to purchase these with a credit card. If you’d like to add another category, but pay by check, please email

Please note that all additional category listings are valid until the expiration date of your Guild membership, even if you selected your new category(s) midway through your membership year.

How do I get my category(s) set up for my Green Pages listing?

Log into the Member Center and click on ‘Edit Green Pages Listing’. At the bottom of this form page, you will be able to choose the category(s) you would like to be listed in. Save your changes!

Is there a printed version of the Green Pages?
The Green Pages Directory is no longer printed at the regional level. See Seattle Chapter Green Pages for more information on their special edition.
